Centre refurbishment throughout which included:
- creating a new computer suite to increase the centres revenue potential with motion sensor lights to improve energy efficiency
- replacing flooring to the dining area with a new v-grooved laminate floor
- installing new vinyl cap and cove flooring, suspended ceilings, sinks and urinals to the toilets and motion sensor lights to improve energy efficiency
- updating the kitchen by replacing all the unit doors, breakfast bars, emulsion walls and paint doors in centres new colour scheme
- installation of new ceiling tiles to the suspended ceiling in the hall
- installation of new suspended ceiling to the corridor and existing computer suite with motion sensor lights to improve energy efficiency
- replacing old steel frame windows to the existing computer suite with new white PVC windows
- boxing in low level pipeworks to the hall, dining area and dance studio to eliminate the risks of burn to the centres visitors
- decoration to the corridor walls and doors in the centres new colour scheme
- repairs to the roof including replacing fascias and extending the roofing sheets to ensure proper drainage as the existing sheets were too short and the fascias were rotting as a consequence
- the chimney required repointing but was crumbling beyond repair and so needed reducing in height and capping off
- refurbishing the exterior security lights to ensure adequate lighting is provided around the perimeter of the building
The client required the works to be carried out around the centre’s activities, so we planned the project around their schedule over a twelve week period. We also had to ensure that the programme was to be completed within the timeframe as the project was funded.
